One of my all time favourite tracks, wonderfully deranged and a track that I never tire of....the whole 'Baia Sound' is one of the few 'genres'(in the widest sense of the word) that constantly generates suprises; the sheer diversity of the records and artists they chose and yet all weirdly united by some hidden 'Baia' thread.....todays "DJs" really could learn a thing or two listening to the Baia tapes from 78-82 or Baldelli's recent 'Cosmic' & 'Baia' compilations.
ReplyDeleteNot to simply grab rare tracks and pretend you had the original for years but to get the idea of flow, meta-connection and the way the "whole" of the mix is more than just a collection of individual tracks.
Anyway, old person rant over! It makes me happy to see someone else who loves this track - though sadly the album from which this is the title track is pretty bland and I was gutted when I heard it, I was expecting psych-funk discoid weirdness and got MOR mid-seventies sterile funk!
It's a good post, specially the part about the critic roll. I mean this blog isn't bad enough and any reader can understand the main point about this categorization. 23jj
